The Islands of Hawaii are sharing the aloha spirit with Seattleites throughout September with consumer events showcasing the music, dance, flavors, and culture of the Hawaiian Islands. Experience the allure of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and Hawaii’s Big Island in the comforts of your own backyard.

Tuesday, August 31, 7:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.
OAHU DAY AT SEATAC AIRPORT AND SOUND TRANSIT RIDE THE WAVE TO HAWAII PROMOTION
SeaTac/Airport Light Rail Station, International Boulevard & South 176th Street
Start your day with the spirit of aloha. Enjoy fresh flower lei, hula performances, and Hawaiian music at the Sound Transit SeaTac Airport Link Light Rail Station on Tuesday, August 31. Then from August 31 through September 10, be on the look out for daily special text codes displayed on Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail and buses to enter to win one of two trips for two to Oahu! Each day there will be a new text code and another opportunity to enter and increase your odds of winning. ALOHA FRIDAYS AT WESTLAKE CENTER PLAZA

Seattleites will have the opportunity to end their week right with an escape to the Islands of Hawaii. Get away from the daily hustle and bustle and unwind at Westlake Center Plaza with the tastes and sounds of Hawaii. Sample delicious island snacks while listening to live Hawaiian music. Come, relax, and take that mini retreat to paradise. Want a real vacation to Hawaii? The Pacific Northwest Ohana will be available to get the planning started! Events are free and open to the public.

In addition to the activities and entertainment above, each island will be adding its own special touch each Friday for you to enjoy. Below are the highlights:

Oahu and Maui (September 10)
Savor sweet cacao from Oahu’s North Shore and Honolulu Cookie Company shortbread cookies along with Coffees of Hawaii and Hawaiian Springs Water. Then take home aromatic plumeria blooms from Molokai and lavender sprigs from Maui after a calming hand massage by Maui’s Kimo Palakiko. Musical entertainment and dance provided by Maui’s Halau Hula o Na Pua o Pakipika complete the island experience.

Kauai and Hawaii’s Big Island (September 24)

Talk story with representatives from Maui Nui and receive a fresh lei greeting with flowers from the island of Molokai. This event is free and open to the public.
