The Islands of Hawaii are sharing its warm aloha spirit with Bay Area residents throughout November with consumer events showcasing the music, dance, flavors, and culture of the Hawaiian Islands. Experience the allure of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and Hawaii’s Big Island in the comfort of your own backyard.

ISLAND STYLE SHAKE UP DRINK PROMOTION

HAWAII NIGHTLIFE AT THE CALIFORNIA ACADEMY OF SCIENCES
The California Academy of Sciences, 55 Music Concourse Drive, Golden Gate Park
NightLife and the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau team up to bring a cultural extravaganza celebrating the scientific side of the Hawaiian Islands to Golden Gate Park on Thursday, November 4. Learn all about ancient and modern Polynesian voyaging, wayfinding, and star navigation from Imiloa Astronomy Center, then enjoy live Hawaiian music, hula dancing, and DJ beats. See the hit documentary Papa Mau: The Wayfinder, fresh from its debut at the Hawaii International Film Festival.  Island-style cuisine, Hawaii-inspired cocktails, and Kona Brewing Company beer will be offered. Guests can then submit an entry form for a chance to win a trip to Oahu, Maui, Kauai, or the Big Island, courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii. Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with the warm aloha spirit of Hawaii as the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau and Hawaiian Airlines transform the Embarcadero Holiday Ice Rink into an island paradise. Gather your friends and family and enjoy an afternoon of live Hawaiian music and entertainment, lei-making, a taste of Hawaii with food and beverage sampling, and the opportunity to browse Hawaii-made products before taking your turn on the ice. Destination specialists will also be on hand to help you plan that next vacation to the Hawaiian Islands.
 
In addition to the activities and entertainment above, each island will add its own special touch each weekend for you to enjoy.  Below are the highlights:
 
Big Island and Kauai (November 13 & 14)

On November 16, AAA members will have the chance to experience the Magic Isles of Maui Nui (Maui, Molokai, and Lanai) at the Hayward AAA office. Enjoy live Hawaiian music, beautiful hula performances and light refreshments. Receive a fresh flower lei and amenities from Maui Nui. Various prizes will be given away as well. This event is open to AAA members only.
 
Wednesday, November 17, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
“MAGICAL MAUI NUI” AT THE AAA OFFICE IN SAN JOSE
AAA San Jose, 80 Saratoga Avenue
Listen to Hawaiian entertainment and hula performances from the Magic Isles of Maui Nui (Maui, Molokai, and Lanai) at the San Jose AAA office on November 17. Be greeted with a fresh flower lei and different amenities and prize giveaways from Maui Nui. Satisfy your appetite with light refreshments. This event is open to AAA members only.

“MAGICAL MAUI NUI” AT THE GREAT MALL IN MILPITAS
Great Mall, 447 Great Mall Drive
Guests will have the chance to journey to the Magic Isles of Maui Nui (Maui, Molokai, and Lanai) at the Great Mall in Milpitas on November 18. Don a fresh flower lei and enjoy live Hawaiian music and hula performances. This event is free and open to the public.

Listen to live Hawaiian music and enjoy hula performances, a fresh flower lei, light refreshments, and amenities from Maui Nui. Be sure to stick around for prize giveaways as well. This event is open to AAA members only.

AAA members in Daly City will have an opportunity to experience the Magic Isles of Maui Nui (Maui, Molokai, and Lanai) on November 19. Live Hawaiian music, hula performances, and light refreshments are sure to get you through the rest of the day. Receive a fresh flower lei and amenities from Maui Nui. Prize giveaways will be available as well. This event is open to AAA members only.

ISLAND STYLE SHAKE UP
The Burritt Room at The Crescent Hotel, 417 Stockton Street
Put on your favorite aloha shirt and grab your family and friends to experience a perfect Hawaii moment in the Island Style Shake Up finale event, presented by San Francisco Magazine and the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau.  Sample three different island-inspired cocktails presented by five of San Francisco’s top bars, then shake it island style with hula dancers, pupu (appetizers), fresh flower lei, and Hawaii music. At the end of the night, a people’s choice and judges’ choice winner will be crowned, and one lucky guest will receive a trip for two to Sheraton Kauai, courtesy of Pleasant Holidays. All proceeds will benefit Spark (www.sparksf.org), an organization dedicated to building a community of young, global citizens who are invested in changing patterns of inequality that impact women throughout the world.
