WAIKOLOA, HI – This Saturday, December 9th , Kings’ Shops located in Waikoloa Beach Resort will be the setting for a special holiday celebration of cuisine, entertainment and the artwork of Waikoloa’s keiki. Kings’ Shops is holding its annual “Passport to International Cultures” from 4:00-6:30 p.m. The holiday celebration will feature live entertainment by Bon Odori Taiko, Honokaa High School Jazz Band and Cyril Pahinui and Mike Kaawa. Food booths will be provided by Big Island Steakhouse, Donatoni’s, Hawaii Calls Restaurant, Merriman’s Market Café, Roy’s Waikoloa Bar & Grill, Starbucks, Beach Grill and Kings’ Grill. Even jolly old Saint Nick will stop by to greet keiki and offer free picture taking. “It’ll be a fun, festive atmosphere where families can enjoy delicious cuisine and wonderful entertainment all while helping to support a worthy cause,” said Debbie Parmley, general manager of Kings’ Shops. Event-goers will be issued a personalized photo passport that allows them to enjoy the food booths. Cost for passports are $15 adults and $5 children. All proceeds will be donated to the Waikoloa Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the education, protection and preservation of native Hawaiian culture, history, flora and fauna. -more- In addition, winners of the Resort’s annual holiday greeting card contest will be announced. Students from Waikoloa Elementary School submitted card designs, some of which are being featured on Waikoloa Beach Resort’s holiday greeting cards. All students’ artwork will be on display at the event. Waikoloa Land Company will present school Principal Kris Kosa-Correira with a $1,000 check for school supplies and the winners will receive a framed version of their design. Parmley said, “We have some talented artists at the school.
